Artist's Description
In the month of January I had two operations on my left eye due to a Melanoma which had grown right behind the center of my eye.................................. Instead of taking out my eye and cutting out the cancer that way, a radioactive "Golden Plaque" was inserted into my eye and left there for a week........................... It was filled with small radioactive pieces aimed at the tumor to shrink it and hopefully kill it..........................A very delicate and specialized operation...................................... I wore a lead patch over the eye for a week................................ When I took it off a week after the second operation the eye was completely swollen,,,.......................but after a week of healing this is what it looked like......................................I have lost about 75% of the vision in this eye but I can still paint............................... Driving and walking are more of a challenge as I still have double vision as well....

He is most grateful for his two great kids and his wonderful wife, Mary. Besides painting, Phil has also played in bands doing...
