In 1888 Van Gogh painted a scene at a cafe in Arles. These charming people were painted in the background.....I have borrowed them to put in the background of a few of my paintings over the years....................I decided it was time to give them a spotlight and for them to have their own painting........................they seem to be somewhat sophisticated and involved in deep conversation while our friend in green seems to performing a monologue with his wine glass......while we sit here drinking and painting.
